Some time ago, my neighbour Pat, sometimes called Patricia or Tricia, Margaret or “that Wilson woman that knits,” gave me a book.
It was a prompt for writing. You open the book randomly, and there is a title, theme or topic. The idea is to write on whatever the page motivates in the way of an idea.
As I enjoy this writing lark, but uniquely do not have a novel in me, I seem to use this gift quite a bit.
I like this book of prompts.
Opening on any page I use whatever theme is printed there. Whatever it says is the stimulus, good or bad – I cannot change to another.
I then write for practise.
I need a lot of practise.
These are a few of the results from those prompts. As I say, I need a lot of practise.
