Category Archives: Stories from the Heart
My heart is being rebuilt or at least renovated a little.
After decades of abuse, neglect, overwork and being broken (oh you evil women) it is, at last, receiving some TLC. Not least from me.
As I cannot fly at present, I have an enforced stay in the UK and have taken to writing “things”. This is not actually helping my cardiac treatment. I am supposed to exercise and get the heart working again.
Writing “things,” is a very sedentary pastime. You sit a lot; in fact, you sit all of the time. The only occasions the heart gets to beat more is:
a) When you get up to make a potentially life shortening coffee.
b) When you move for ablutions.
c) When you traipse to the kitchen for a delicious unbuttered, wholemeal, lettuce leaf sandwich.
d) When you think of a writing topic and you do a circuit of the room in some vague celebration.
Apart from the above you sit in front of an often blank screen or paper for possibly ages. Not what the cardiologist ordered eh?
Well here are some of the “things” I’ve written.

Thank you Mr Microsoft
Thank You Mr Microsoft. Thank you for scanning my computer. I didn’t ask and you did it for me. Thanks. Oh, and thanks for finding the virus that was “infecting” my machine. Boy, without you looking, unrequested, I would … Continue reading →
Kimberley-Clarke
Previously I discussed loo rolls in Cuba. This reminded me, and subsequently brings me on to loo rolls in the UK and a company called Kimberley – Clarke. I am sure you will know of this firm, especially if you … Continue reading →
